June 7, 2010-Xavant recently introduced its new range and generation Stimpod NMS410 and 450 nerve stimulators in South Africa and international markets. Sales have exceeded all expectations in the first 60 days since its launch on March 25. Xavant began shipping to Europe in May with initial sales expected from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. The new generation Stimpod will be available in over 40 EU countries in the coming months. The NMS410 is already available in the USA with the NMS450 to follow within the next few months. "Am I close to the nerve?"
The NMS410 and the NMS450 feature a proximity indicator to alert the anesthesiologist to probable nerve proximity. The unit monitors the amount of charge that is delivered to the patient and sound an alarm when the charge delivered is below a set threshold.
